Sleeping piglets - how many do you see?

Did you guess three?

A whirlwind trip to Bridport VT on Saturday. We picked up 8 of our 10 piglets for the year. They are adorable. The black with white socks are Berkshires, the spotted ones are Tamworth/Berkshire crosses. They are friendly, although they love to munch on your boots!

Mud and seeds

Rain is good. Word to the wise, don't try to plant parsnip seeds on a windy day...

It's official!

Our high class sign, came at the right price, and hopefully it will do the trick and get people interested in what we are doing. Is that the phone I hear ringing??

April Showers

The crocus' before the chickens and dog and kids stomple them...

The daffodil looked perkier yesterday before the deluge of much needed rain.

Easter Day 2009

Windy day at the farm - what a fun way to spend Easter! New kites, a seriously stiff breeze and Oh-No here to enjoy made up for the fact that daddy was at work today.

Even the critters got into it when Grace's kite got eaten by a tree... that's Henry in the tree trying to find the best way to get the kite.

Patriots Day 2009

Welcome to Heritage Hill Farm, located in Belgrade, Maine. The hill we live on has no official name, we checked with the town historian. But we like the history of the place, the structures are hand crafted post and beam, by Quakers, dating back to the 1830's. Also, we will be raising a heritage breed of pig this year, along with a few heirloom veggies mixed in with old favorites in our CSA. I would also like to think of this venture as becoming our heritage for the generations ahead of us, if only in the memories of our children.
